The Facts:
McGahee, who was listed as questionable this week with an injured knee, is active for today's game against the Browns, but he didn't start and had yet to come off the bench through the first quarter. The CBS announcing crew has apparently reported that OC Cam Cameron characterized McGahee as an "emergency" option.

Given the copious amount of pre-game reporting stating that McGahee was ready to roll -- NFL Network's Steve Wyche, Adam Schefter and ESPN's Chris Mortensen all reported the same (with Wyche reporting it from the field in Cleveland) -- it's safe to say this information wasn't revealed until after kickoff. Whatever the case, Ray Rice started and is getting the bulk of the first-half carries. ... It's also safe to say we'll be hearing more about this one over the next few days.
