Santonio Holmes Issues An Apology
(10/27 12:17 PT)

The Facts:
Holmes apologized Monday for his actions following a charge for possession of marijuana. “I would like to apologize to my teammates, the Steelers organization, my family and the fans for my actions that caused me to miss Sunday’s game,” Holmes said in a statement released through the team. “I recognize that I made a mistake and understand the significance of my actions, and will not make any excuses for my behavior. ... I look forward to putting this behind me and to being accepted by my teammates and the fans as part of this team.” Reported by The Sports Ticker

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Holmes was stopped by police Thursday afternoon and admitted to having a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle, pointing out three cigars filled with the illegal substance. Holmes’ absence was noticeable in the loss to the Giants. Ben Roethlisberger threw for just 189 yards and was intercepted four times by the Giants. ... Holmes, who is in his third season with the Steelers, has 22 catches for 360 yards and one touchdown this season. For his career, he has hauled in 118 passes for 2,037 yards and 11 touchdowns. For what it's worth, no word from HC Mike Tomlin on whether Holmes will be re-instated for Sunday's game or whether the team fined him.
