The Facts:
Johnson was charged with simple assault on Monday for allegedly spitting his drink in a woman’s face earlier this month. Johnson turned himself in to Kansas City police Monday morning, spokesman Darin Snapp told PA SportsTicker. He was released after posting a $500 bond. Snapp said the two-time Pro Bowler is scheduled to appear in court on December 4. Johnson faces a maximum jail term of six months and a $500 fine.

The woman claimed that Johnson had threatened to kill her boyfriend before spitting his drink in her face. Last Wednesday, Johnson apologized for his recent behavior, saying he is “disgusted” with himself. ... Johnson is scheduled to meet with commissioner Roger Goodell this week.
