Meeting Over; No Immediate Resolution For Brett Favre
(7/30 12:59 PT)

The Facts:
Favre left a meeting with Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy a short time ago with little comment. "Why don’t ya’ll get in the shade?" was all Favre would say to members of the media as he drove away from the meeting at the office of his agent, James "Bus" Cook in Hattiesburg. Neither Cook nor Murphy made themselves available for comment and there was no indication whether the sides would meet again this afternoon. Reported by ArizonaSports.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
In case you missed it, Murphy reportedly asked for the meeting in an effort to keep Favre from reporting to training camp. ... For what it's worth, ESPN insider Chris Mortensen suggests the fact that Cook and Murphy continued discussions after Favre left might suggest some kind of financial negotiation. ... Mortensen also believes that commissioner Roger Goodell will delay Favre's reinstatement for another day. Because the Packers take Thursday off, that would buy the two sides even more time to work things out. Stay tuned.
