HC Lovie Smith said he held Hester out of Friday's practice because of tightness in his hamstring even though he had no noticeable limp. "I'm not going to rush anybody back," Smith said. "It's not like it's a big issue or anything, he'll be fine."

In case you missed it, Hester showed up at the Bears' training camp without a new contract. Whether the kick return star will practice without one remains to be seen.
