According to Post staffer Jason La Canfora, Thomas on the field for the afternoon practice, wearing shorts and a T-shirt. He stood watching drills and talking to Jason Campbell. ... Not a huge setback for Thomas, but a setback nonetheless. In a related note: Fellow rookie Malcolm Kelly continues to work at the "X" receiving spot (split end) in HC Jim Zorn's West Coast scheme. With Santana Moss locked in at the "Z" (flanker) spot and Antwaan Randle El most effective working out of the slot, Kelly's chances of making an immediate contribution appear to be better than those of Thomas (who is backing Moss).
