The Broncos have reached an agreement in principal on a four-year deal with No. 2 draft pick Royal, who is expected to become the No. 1 punt and kickoff returner.

As reported in last weekend's Fantasy Notebook, Royal could also be in the mix at wideout -- perhaps even at the No. 2 spot. According to Pro Football Weekly, coaches like what Royal showed in the squad's mini-camps and are willing to give him a shot at passing Keary Colbert and Darrell Jackson on the depth chart. Of course, getting a shot and making good on it are two different things.
