Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Times staffer Ryan O'Halloran went on to not that Portis will be 27 by opening night but already has 1,710 career carries. Still, as O'Halloran added, "[Portis is] armed with a pay raise and didn't have any offseason surgeries. It's time to for him to become more of a big-play performer. ..." Portis agrees. The star halfback believes the spread formations that Zorn uses will open up more running lanes inside, similar to what he saw in Denver's zone-blocking offense.
