The Facts:
The day after the Bears severed ties with Cedric Benson, the Bears continued to prepare for the Matt Forte era and Jones continued to wait for a call. Jones, a former first-round pick of the Detroit Lions, hopes to hear from the Bears, according to a source close to the player.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Jones, released by Detroit in March, has worked out for New England and Tennessee without striking a deal. He will hold a personal workout for scouts June 28 to prove he is fully recovered from a torn ACL in his right knee, suffered in last season's home finale against the Chiefs. He is considered a high-character guy and would undoubtedly have plenty of motivation to get back at Detroit, a divisional rival of the Bears. Others being mentioned in Chicago are Shaun Alexander, LaMont Jordan and Travis Henry. ... Still, it seems like the Bears are keen on giving Forte first shot at the featured role.
