The Facts:
Alan Faneca's agent said Friday that Fitzgerald's drawn-out contract talks with the Cardinals cost Arizona a chance to land Faneca, the well-regarded, free-agent offensive lineman. "They would 100 percent be in this thing if Larry had redone his deal," said Rick Smith, Faneca's Chicago-based agent. "Larry is going to cost them Alan Faneca. It's a fact."

Headline News article this week, the Cardinals currently owe him $32 million over the next two years because of incentives Fitzgerald reached in his rookie contract. The Cards have been trying to restructure without luck. Fitzgerald told KTAR Radio, "I want to be a consummate professional, a team guy. I don't want to do anything to hurt the team." So far, however, his actions are speaking louder than his words.
