Kelvin Benjamin Impressing At Rookie Mini-Camp
(5/18 12:58 PT)

The Facts:
Benjamin dazzled those gathered at the team's rookie camp by leaping up "to make a one-handed snag with two defenders draped all over him," according to David Newton of ESPN.com. "That was pretty impressive," HC Ron Rivera. "He's got the kind of ability you're looking for." Reported by NFL.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The 6-5 rookie has drawn comparisons to Alshon Jeffery, but also hits the scene as a raw, boom-or-bust talent after just one season of major production at Florida State. He's an intriguing match for Cam Newton and a soothing balm for the Panthers, who desperately needed help at the position after waving goodbye to three of the team's top four pass-catchers from a season ago. Benjamin will give the Panthers more than a threat at receiver. He'll provide a big blocker who can open room for Newton and the Carolina backs down field. His presence also won't allow teams to stack eight in the box to stop the run, which will enable the Panthers to do more with its bread-and-butter game. And Newton will have a big body capable of making clutch plays.
