The Facts:
One hundred and one minutes into his rookie mini-camp, Evans made a breath-taking catch. Leaping and stretching his 6-5 body, he reached for a badly overthrown ball plucking it out of the air using only his right hand. Not only does Evans have an obvious vertical advantage over most defensive backs, the Texas A&M star already is demonstrating his ability to elevate the play of the Bucs offense this season. "You talk to the players about doing something to make the coaches notice them,' HC Lovie Smith said. "Great catch by Mike Evans out there today but he's been doing that all week. He's a good football player.'

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Evans was among a number of rookies who were able to participate in off-season workouts with the Bucs veterans earlier this week. The first-round pick continued to be the Bucs' hottest rookie receiver, catching everything thrown his way as the team's rookie mini-camp got underway. "Great size, it's good to see him up close going against a 5-10 defensive back,' Smith said. "We have some big, tall men out there making plays. He has excellent hands. You saw that in college, so we haven't been surprised by an awful lot. You take a player that high in the draft, you expect decent, spectacular plays from him. ..." Again, fantasy football owners should expect Evans to be an immediate and significant contributor.
