Will Devin Hester Still Have A Role In Passing Attack?
(4/29 8:40 PT)

The Facts:
If the Bears have done anything the last six weeks since free agency started, they've shaken up a WR corps that's been in need of a makeover for, well, most of Lovie Smith's tenure. But don't write off a veteran like Hester, who remains very much a part of the plan. "Devin's role has not changed," general manager Phil Emery said. "We see him as a guy that is going to help our receiving corps in a big way. Reported by the Chicago Tribune

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Emery added: "I know that [OC Mike] Tice has done a lot of planning. We want to make sure that we have a special plan for Devin; we have the Devin Package, a package of plays as a receiver. You never know where he is going to line up. ..." We're still skeptical of how much a role Hester will play. Four of the 21 additions in free agency and the draft have come at wide receiver, certainly providing upgrades in Brandon Marshall and rookie Alshon Jeffery and depth with Johnny Knox very questionable to play this season. In other words, we'll continue to believe Hester will play a significant role in the passing attack the minute we see more than verbal evidence that's the case.
