ongoing story. ... Griffin was given a playbook from the Redskins' coaching staff, and he'll begin "mastering" it as soon as possible, the second-overall pick in the NFL draft said at his introductory news conference Saturday.

After being drafted Thursday, Griffin said he'd met with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan twice for a total of about six hours and was given the playbook on Friday. They discussed the verbiage of the system and how defenses plan to attack him. RG3 told reporters he plans to be part of "solution" in turning around the franchise which hasn't made the playoffs since 2006. "They drafted me to be the solution, and I intend to be a part of that," the former Baylor quarterback said.
