Saturday Expects Peyton Manning To Play In 2012; Irsay Chimes In Too
(2/25 10:25 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the ongoing story. ... Colts center Jeff Saturday still regularly communicates with Manning, and that inside access has led him to believe one thing: The QB definitely will play in 2012 after he recovers from his neck surgeries. "Absolutely," Saturday said while appearing as a guest analyst during NFL Network's coverage of the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. "He's going to hate me saying that, but I've said it since last November, so my story hasn't changed." Reported by NFL.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
"He'll be playing football, I can assure you of that," Saturday also said. "I hope it's here. I hope he's filling Lucas Oil (Stadium) next year at this time, but he'll be playing somewhere. ..." In case you missed it, HC Chuck Pagano and GM Ryan Grigson said Thursday that they haven't seen Manning throw yet, but Saturday believes the team should reach out to the future Hall of Fame QB if keeping him is the priority. "I would say if I'm the Colts and I have interest in Peyton, I'm calling him up to get him to come throw for me," said Saturday, who will be a free agent next month. "I'm not going to wait for him to decide to walk in and throw. I'm going to actively seek that out. ..." Meanwhile, owner Jim Irsay claims he's been in regular contact with Manning. "Not sure why some speculate that Peyton n I haven't met in person recently..we've met in person n communicated frequently n last week or so," Irsay reported via Twitter. ... And the beat goes on. Stay tuned.
