The Facts:
Juan Castillo will return for a second season as the Eagles' DC. Castillo will remain in the position, CSNPhilly.com’s Reuben Frank confirmed Monday, but he also will have a new -- and experienced -- assistant on his staff. The Eagles will also name Todd Bowles as their new secondary coach, filling the spot vacated by the firing of secondary/cornerbacks coach Johnnie Lynn. Michael Zordich, the secondary/safeties coach, will remain on the staff.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Bowles spent the last four seasons as the Dolphins’ assistant head coach/secondary coach. He took over as interim head coach for the Dolphins after Tony Sparano was fired with three games remaining in this past season. The Dolphins went 2-1 in those games. Bowles also has local ties. He is from Elizabeth, N.J. and played college football at Temple. Bowles was not retained when the Dolphins hired Joe Philbin as their new head coach. Castillo had a shaky first season as defensive coordinator. Ultimately, the defense finished eighth in the league but not before it blew five fourth quarter leads in the first nine weeks of the season. The star-studded and revamped secondary, in particular, was victimized early in the season. Andy Reid has been particularly quiet this off-season and has not officially met with the media since the season ended. Owner Jeffrey Lurie fulfilled the league's requirement when he spoke to announce Reid's return for a 14th season in early January.
