Emery, who has spent the past three seasons as Kansas City Chiefs director of college scouting, originally entered the NFL as an area scout with the Bears from 1998-2004. Emery later served as director of college scouting with the Falcons from 2004-08 before working as a regional scout for Atlanta leading up to the 2009 draft. Emery then joined the Chiefs, helping them win the AFC West title in 2010. ... Emery was one of five candidates to interview for the Bears general manager position. The others were Patriots director of pro personnel Jason Licht, Chargers director of player personnel Jimmy Raye, Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross and Bears director of player personnel Tim Ruskell. Emery and Licht were the two finalists, both meeting with the Bears for a second time this week as the team searched for Jerry Angelo's replacement.
