Tim Tebow will enter next season's training camp as the Denver Broncos' starting QB. The team sought to curb the circus that's sure to surround Tebow during the offseason by declaring him the incumbent at a season-ending news conference Monday. "Tim (Tebow) has earned the right to be the starting quarterback going into training camp next year," Broncos vice president of football operations John Elway said, according to the team. "He made some good strides."

Elway pledged to work with Tebow during the offseason to polish his passing game, a day after the second-year quarterback went 9-of-26 passing for 136 yards in a 45-10 divisional round playoff loss to the New England Patriots. "There are things that I can add," Elway said. "Where I can help him. ... I'm looking forward to it." Tebow took over a 1-4 team in October and guided the Broncos to their first playoff berth since 2005. His 80-yard touchdown toss on the first play of overtime beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the wild-card round. Of course, the Broncos currently don't have any other options beyond Tebow, who is the team's only quarterback under contract for 2012. The Broncos traded veteran Kyle Orton and backup Brady Quinn was the only other quarterback on the roster. Elway said that adding another quarterback will be one of his priorities this offseason. "We have to obviously be in the market to find some more quarterbacks in free agency or the draft," Elway said.
