The Facts:
With signs pointing toward Jeff Fisher choosing the St. Louis Rams, the Dolphins are showing they have a backup plan. Today, they were scheduled to interview Bengals DC Mike Zimmer, according to the NFL Network. The Dolphins also requested permission to speak with Falcons OC Mike Mularkey.

Zimmer is free to listen to offers now that the Bengals are eliminated from the postseason. Zimmer just finished his fourth season with Cincy, where his defense ranked sixth in the league with 44 sacks. ... Mularkey has previous head-coaching experience, going 14-18 in two seasons with the Buffalo Bills from 2004-05. Mularkey was also on the Dolphins staff when Nick Saban and Cam Cameron were in charge.
