After Rex Grossman threw four interceptions and was replaced by John Beck who led the team to a late score while not turning the ball over, Shanahan was unwilling to name his starting quarterback going forward.

Shanahan said that the announcement would come on Wednesday at the earliest, but he did admit that the change was made because "We needed a spark..." which is what Beck provided. It will be harder to hide his intentions at quarterback against the Panthers next week than it was with his starting running back this week.
