an ongoing story.... Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Harbaugh went on to explain, "(Smith has) been maligned by the hometown fans there. ... He's really even been thrown under the bus by his own team more than once. And the kind of character of a guy that would want to come back, prove himself with that same football team, that's rare kind of character. (It) probably falls somewhere in the endangered and extinct range. So we can win with that. ..." As NFP staffer Brad Biggs notes, Harbaugh made his comments despite being told to zip it by the NFL last month when it came to the free-agent QB. ... Harbaugh has made no secret of the fact his team will re-sign Smith when free agency opens. The QB has also publicly expressed his desire to return. ... In terms of the 49ers' receiving corps best achieving it's full potential for Fantasy Football owners, Smith's return seems like the best possible scenario.
