The Facts:
Following up on
an ongoing story. ... During the past several weeks, Henne has led many of his offensive teammates in workouts. He has directed passing drills and he said he has attempted to install portions of new OC Brian Daboll's new offense. "You know, coming from Michigan I was kind of that guy — the leader," said Henne. "And now it's kind of stepping into that role again and, for me, it's just a new experience and a lot of fun for me to be around the guys."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
HC Tony Sparano said it has been "really encouraging" to hear that Henne transitioned into a more authoritative role. Sparano said he'd been following Henne's work through media reports, and through things he has heard. "Chad has taken the reigns here and it's been really good," Sparano said. "I think [it will] probably be really good for his teammates to see him in that kind of environment doing that. [Henne's leadership is] something that I see. I've seen it in the office. I've seen it on the practice field. But when it's him by himself in that situation, that's been good for him. ..." That said, Henne will still be tested once the lockout is over. GM Jeff Ireland reiterated last Thursday his desire to add a QB who could push Henne for the starting job. Ireland said he's open to acquiring one through either free agency or a trade, and he indicated he'd prefer a QB with some years behind him. ... Stay tuned. Henne is clearly willing to embrace the challenge; but is he capable?
