The Facts:
Garrard isn't intimidated by the arrival of rookie QB Blaine Gabbert, who's regarded as the AFC South club's quarterback of the future. "I think competition's healthy," Garrard told the Florida Times-Union. You never shy away from competition. That's just sports."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Gabbert was drafted 10th overall out of Missouri. He's expected to eventually take over the job. As NFP staffer Aaron Wilson suggests, when that happens will hinge on how he progresses and how Garrard performs. "My thing is the best man will play," Garrard said. "The cream will rise to the top. All those different sayings. That's true, you want the best person out there on the field. To give the team the best chance. That's what I believe. If it's not me, then it's just not me. ..." The good news for Garrard? The lockout will make if very difficult for Gabbert to come in and compete on equal footing.
