The Facts:
The Cardinals backfield is going to loock rather different next year. After taking Ryan Williams high in the second round, Arizona drafted UConn fullback Anthony Sherman in the fifth round. He was the top-ranked fullback in the class.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Although Ken Whisenhunt denied a message was being sent to Beanie Wells, who has not been durable, and Tim Hightower, who has fumbled too much, the selection of Williams Friday is a pretty good indication the Cards weren't happy with the production of their running game last year. In addition to stressing the value Williams represented -- "We’re looking at number 38 and we got the 15th-ranked player on our board staring us back in the face,” Whisenhunt said of the newcomer -- the coach added: "He brings a lot of things to the table as a running back that are pretty unique — size, speed, the way he runs. ...” Doesn't Wells bring the same? While local fans might not appreciate or understand the team's decision to go with a pair of backs (especially with glaring needs elsewhere), two things are certain: 1. The Cardinals are going to run the ball a lot this year; and 2. As PFT's Gregg Rosenthal suggested this morning, Wells and Hightower are "on notice."
