What will happen this week is still anyone’s guess. As the AP suggested, a deal could be reached at any time. Talks could break off. The sides could agree to yet another extension. ... One thing is certain: There's plenty of work to be done. According to Washington Post staffer Mark Maske, the two sides are still close to $800 million per year apart on the central economic issue of how to divide the sport's revenue. Per the AP, the NFLPA has not agreed to any major economic concessions and that the NFL has not agreed to the union’s long-held demand that the league completely open its books and share all financial information.
