The Facts:
NFL owners completed a three-hour meeting on Wednesday in a Washington D.C. suburb, with Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay stating that no vote has been taken whether or not to lock out players when the collective bargaining agreement expires on Thursday at midnight ET. "There was nothing official about a lockout," Irsay said, after exiting the meeting.

The league is open to continuing mediation with federal mediator George S. Cohen, a source with knowledge of the situation told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora. The league is awaiting further word from Cohen about whether the talks will continue Wednesday night or on Thursday morning. Irsay said owners not on the NFL Management Council Executive Committee will leave and the owners meeting portion is over. The CEC, which has the authorization to call for a lockout without the need for a further vote, will continue to meet, but Irsay said it was undecided if there would be further mediation tonight or tomorrow. Meanwhile, ESPN insider Adam Schefter suggested the following scenario to his Twitter followers this afternoon: "NFLPA files for decertification after tomorrow's mediation. CEC votes next day to lockout or close down. Then lawyers play. ..." Stay tuned.
