Chad Henne Still In The Mix In Miami
(1/25 11:13 PT)

The Facts:
GM Jeff Ireland told reporters on Tuesday that rebuilding the roster for 2011 may not necessarily involve a change at QB. While Ireland said the team will “evaluate what’s out there. ... In free agency and the draft,” he said the team will give Henne a chance to compete for the starting job in 2011, and may even tailor the new offense around his skillset. Reported by the Palm Beach Post

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Owner Steven Ross has said he wants an “aggressive” and “exciting” offense, and Ireland said Henne, the third-year QB who finished the 2010 season with 15 touchdowns, 19 interceptions and a disappointing 75.4 passer rating, might be the guy to run it. “He’s shown some aggressive tendencies, he’s shown some exciting throws,” Ireland said. “He’s got all the ability in the world. We’ve just got to put a plan together and an offensive philosophy that fits Chad Henne, and I think we’ll do that. ..." Ireland said that with so many new offensive coaches in the building – the Dolphins will enter 2011 with a new OC, QBs coach and tight ends coach – that the team needs to let Henne work with the new coaches first before making any rash decisions about his future. till, the team is evaluating its options at QB, “like we do every position,” Ireland said.
