The Broncos have asked the Panthers for permission to interview HC John Fox, The Denver Post reported Saturday, citing an NFL source. The Post reported that if the Broncos gain permission to interview Fox, which is expected, he will be in Denver on Monday.

Panthers owner Jerry Richardson has said Fox won't be back in Carolina. But because Fox still has a few weeks remaining on his contract, the Broncos have to ask to interview him. Fox is the highest-profile coach on what is developing into a long list of candidates for the Broncos. ... The Broncos plan to interview interim coach Eric Studesville and Giants DC Perry Fewell on Sunday, and OCs Rick Dennison of the Texans and Dirk Koetter of the Jaguars on Tuesday. DCs Ron Rivera of the Chargers and Gregg Williams of the Saints have also been mentioned along with former Giants HC Jim Fassel.
