HC Tony Sparano’s contract has been extended two years, through 2013, according to a Dolphins source. His $2.8 million salary is believed to remain in the same range, and he will also have an “expanded role” in player personnel decisions.

failed pursuit of Jim Harbaugh. Ireland, as before, will have the final say in that area, including how the Dolphins will use the 15th overall pick in the next NFL Draft.
