The Facts:
HC Tony Sparano’s contract has been extended two years, through 2013, according to a Dolphins source. His $2.8 million salary is believed to remain in the same range, and he will also have an “expanded role” in player personnel decisions.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As Sun Sentinel staffer Mike Berardino suggests, a fragile peace appears to have been brokered between Sparano and GM Jeff Ireland. How long it will last -- and how effective they will be as a tandem going forward -- remains to be seen in the wake of the team’s
failed pursuit of Jim Harbaugh. Ireland, as before, will have the final say in that area, including how the Dolphins will use the 15th overall pick in the next NFL Draft.
