Jones: Tony Romo Behind Schedule
(12/20 9:21 PT)

The Facts:
Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones said Sunday that Romo's recovery from the fractured left collarbone he suffered in October is behind schedule and indicated that it is looking increasingly unlikely that the quarterback will return to the field this season. "As I stand here right before the game, he's not ready to play," Jones said minutes after the Cowboys defeated the Washington Redskins 33-30. "He's still having sensitivity. If he were healthy, he would practice." Reported by the Dallas Morning News

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Only weeks ago, it appeared Romo would come back Dec. 25, when the Cowboys face the Cardinals. But Jones said that Romo hasn't healed as quickly as the team had anticipated he would. "We are a little behind where I'd thought we'd be on how healthy he is," Jones said. The steady, competent play of quarterback Jon Kitna, meanwhile, has also reduced the need to re-insert Romo into the lineup, according to Jones. "The fact that Kitna is playing well, healthy, off a win, we've got to think about that as well," Jones said.
