Hakeem Nicks To Miss 3 Weeks With Leg Injury
(11/22 1:22 PT)

The Facts:
Nicks will be out of action for three weeks as he is being treated for Compartment Syndrome in his lower right leg, the Giants announced today. Nicks suffered the injury in Sunday night's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Reported by the Newark Star-Ledger

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
According to Star-Ledger staffer Mike Garafolo, Compartment Syndrome is swelling in the lower leg which compresses nerves and blood vessels and can lead to muscle and nerve damage if not treated immediately. Nicks is undergoing a fasciotomy to treat the injury this afternoon, according to the Giants. Nicks has had a few ankle injuries this season, but nothing so severe that it has knocked him out of action. The loss of Nicks would be the second big blow to Eli Manning's reservoir of targets. Steve Smith is out, likely until early next month, with a partially torn pectoral muscle. That would leave Mario Manningham and Derek Hagan, who joined the team just last week, as the presumptive starters.
