The Facts:
Gonzalez hasn't had an ankle injury since he was a high school freshman, so he's flying somewhat blind with the high, right ankle sprain suffered when he was tackled during the Sept. 12 season opener at Houston. "They're saying four to six (weeks)," Gonzalez said. "The doctors and trainers tell me I'm ahead of schedule."

If he's out four weeks, he could return for the Oct. 17 game at Washington. The Colts' bye week is Oct. 24. ... Indy's passing attack didn't suffer greatly without Gonzalez last season and is likely to do just fine without him now.
