The Facts:
According to Boston Herald staffer Ian Rapoport, Moss was "loud" and "strong" during his post-game press conference this afternoon in making "his most extensive statement regarding his desire for a new contract." Said Moss: “If the opportunity presented itself later in the season for me to be a New England Patriot, I would accept that. But if it doesn’t, I must leave. I’ve already shown that I can play at a high level at age 33. For me to be offered a contract after the season is over, I think that would be a smack in my face and I don’t even want to get into that.”

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Moss clearly realized his comments, coming in the wake of a season-opening win over the Bengals, will become big news. "Any thing I say will probably be blown out of proportion," Moss conceded. "Earlier in the week, I was asked a question about being unhappy and being unhappy doesn't have anything to do with toning my game down. I'm here and I understand my role is to take the ball deep and take the top off the defense. ..." As Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio
noted, Moss doesn't seem to be worried about the possibility of getting into trouble for his remarks. Asked whether he thinks he'll be called into coach Bill Belichick's office to discuss the comments, Moss said, "If I do, I do."
