The Redskins placed Cooley on injured reserve Monday. The medical prognosis after Cooley's ankle injury went from "out for the season" to returning in "as soon as four weeks" and now back to out for the season again.

It doesn't appear that Cooley suffered a setback, but the injury apparently didn't heal as quickly as hoped and the Redskins didn't want to risk further issue in a lost season. Cooley caught 29 passes for 332 yards in his seven games, one of the only Redskins on offense that played up to his career norms.
