Smith Reiterates Need To Decrease Michael Turner's Carries
(7/27 8:52 PT)

The Facts:
HC Mike Smith reiterated the stance that Atlanta doesn't want to lean as heavily on Turner, who ran for 1,741 yards on 394 carries and scored 17 touchdowns in 17 games last season. “We know that he can’t sustain 370 carries over a number of years,” Smith said. “We definitely know that we have to reduce the load that we put on him this year.” Reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
That falls into line with comments made by OC Mike Mularkey last month. It also falls into line with what local (see http://www.footballdiehards.com/NewsMain.cfm?NewsIndex=11545) and national correspondents (see here) have been reporting since March. But does that mean it's time to downgrade Turner on your rankings? Not yet. ... We feel he's still a solid enough red-zone threat to remain a Top-5 Fantasy back in all scoring formats.
