The Facts:
Edwards, speaking at voluntary mini-camp for the first time since off-season trade rumors, said he didn't want to leave Cleveland on a bad note after his sub-par 2008 season. "I didn't get excited [about the rumors]," he said. "One, they were rumors and there was nothing to hold on to. And two, I felt like if I would have left Cleveland for any reason, I would have left with a bad taste in my mouth."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Edwards added the fact that GM George Kokinis engaged in trade talks with the Giants involving him didn't sour him. He also never spoke to Kokinis or coach Eric Mangini about the trade rumors. "I never talked to the Browns or anybody here about any chance of a trade or any possibility. I never really paid any attention because I had nothing to go off of. ..." Edwards, apparently realizing he has ground to make up after a poor showing last year (and with rumors of potential trades still circulating), deflected extension talk. "Right now I just want to play," he said. ... That's step one; step two is playing well.
