Agent: Thomas Jones Will Report Next Week
(5/20 12:14 PT)

The Facts:
Jones, who's seeking a new contract, will show up for the team's Organized Team Activity sessions next week, according to his agent. Jones' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, wrote on his Twitter account Tuesday that Jones plans to attend the voluntary workouts and end his self-imposed absence. Reported by Profootballtalk.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Prior to his Twitter announcement, Rosenhaus downplayed the contract dispute during an interview today with Steve Wyche of NFL.com. "I will admit that we are in some discussions with the team," Rosenhaus said. "There is no acrimony, and who knows? He may even be showing up in the near future. ..." Jones, who rushed for 1,312 yards and 13 touchdowns last season, is due a $900,000 base salary in 2009. He's under contract through 2010 and it appears the Jets are more interested in giving running mate Leon Washington a new deal at this point in time.
