The Raiders claimed ranklin off waivers from the Detroit Lions, giving them another set of fresh legs as they started their three-day organized team activities Tuesday. Reported by the Oakland Tribune

Franklin failed to make either the Chiefs, who released him, or the Lions, with both teams looking for young complementary receivers to pair with Calvin Johnson and Dwayne Bowe. With Javon Walker (knee) ailing and rookie Darrius Heyward-Bey bothered by a sore hamstring during the team's first mini-camp, Franklin at least gives the team another warm body capable of running routes for the QBs.
