The report also suggested the deal could be done today. Still no confirmation that's the case. Oakland Tribune staffer Jerry McDonald reached Garcia's agent this morning, but got a no comment. ... While it's clear Garcia isn't going to find a starting job at this point in the process, his interest in Oakland -- and working behind JaMarcus Russell -- might be understandable. As McDonald framed it, the issue before Garcia is if he wants to go to a situation where there is a potentially faltering starter, meaning he could conceivably take over the job, or enter in to a situation where he has no chance to be No. 1 unless there is an injury.
