Leftwich does not yet have an offer from the Steelers, where he was the backup quarterback last season after an injury to Charlie Batch in the preseason. If Leftwich were to join the Skins, he'd likely battle Todd Collins for a backup role (and a roster spot -- Colt Brennan would be expected to remain on the club). Meanwhile, Steelers HC Mike Tomlin and personnel chief Kevin Colbert have said they'd like to re-sign Leftwich. ... Stay tuned.
