Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
According to PFT's Mike Florio, if Burress had accepted the deal, the team likely would have kept him for 2009, despite the current uncertainty regarding his legal status. Now Burress faces an even more uncertain long-term future when it comes to his professional career. As Florio suggested, even if Burress somehow avoids jail time in his June 15 hearing on weapons charges (which seems unlikely), he's going to have a hard time garnering much more than the veteran minimum salary on a one-year deal.
