Following up on a previous item. ... HC Eric Mangini denied Thursday night that the Browns were involved in three-way trade talks that would've sent Quinn to Denver. Late Thursday night, Mangini -- through team spokesman Neal Gulkis -- said the report was wrong.

The deal, originally reported in the Washington Examiner, involved the Broncos, Redskins and Browns, was close to happening at one point during the day, the source said. Disgruntled Broncos QB Jay Cutler, who ended up being traded to Chicago, told a CBS affiliate in Denver Thursday afternoon that he was headed to Washington. The report comes a little more than a week after Mangini said at the NFL owners meetings that he wouldn't rule out a trade. ... Quinn will compete with Derek Anderson for playing the starting role this summer.
