Burress made an appearance at Giants Stadium recently, though he wasn't there to work out with his teammates or meet with members of the front office. Burress was at the facility to receive treatment on his back, according to someone familiar with Burress' recent itinerary.

According to Star-Ledger staffer Mike Garafolo, Burress called the team to tell him he was experiencing soreness in his back. The Giants told him to come in so they could examine and treat the injury. It's unclear what caused the soreness although he has had lingering back issues for quite some time. ... The bigger issue is the Giants' willingness to keep lines of communication and cooperation with Burress open. It could lead one to believe the team would be equally open to the veteran wideout's return -- depending on the outcome of his ongoing legal issues.
