The Facts:
HC Sean Payton discussed a number of topics Thursday during an interview at the NFL’s Scouting Combine, including rehabilitation updates on Marques Colston and Reggie Bush. Payton had positive reports on both Colston and Bush, who are coming off knee surgeries.

While neither will be at full strength in time for organized team activities on March 30, Payton did say that “everyone’s doing pretty good.” The coach added that Bush was “way ahead of schedule. ...” For what it's worth, Payton also discussed the state of the team’s backfield, saying the team is “dying” to add a power running back either via free agency or the draft. Some reports have suggested Payton's failure to mention a specific role for Pierre Thomas might be an indication last year's late-season star isn't in their plans. We would suggest that might be reading too much into the comments.
