According to NFL Network insider Adam Schefter, releasing Curry will save the Raiders $2.3 million against the cap. Curry had bounced back from injuries to become a dependable target in Oakland. But now he will be leaving, looking for work elsewhere in part because Raiders owner Al Davis is eager to see more from youngsters like Johnnie Lee Higgins and Chaz Schilens. Recent reports have also suggested Javon Walker could remain with the team this year.
