Collins is set to become an unrestricted free agent on Feb. 27 and has said he'd like to return only as the team's starter in 2009. But so far, contract talks have been slow going between his agent and GM Mike Reinfeldt. "There's been nothing substantial," Collins said.

Talking to reporters at the Pro Browl in Hawaii, Collins reiterated his feelings from the end of the season. He's not interested in returning to back up Vince Young after guiding the Titans to a 13-3 mark. He's had one conversation with HC Jeff Fisher since season's end, but the biggest question never has been whether the team wants him to start -- they do. It's whether a contract can be worked out.
