The Facts:
As rumors and speculation mount that the Chargers could trade Tomlinson before the start of the 2009 season, Tomlinson has spoken out. “I know every team has a right to make trades and all this stuff, ” Tomlinson told Jim Trotter of SI.com. "But I just think it’s ridiculous to be talking about this, to have this stuff in the media when this could be handled behind closed doors and in a professional way. ... This has become a big story and I don’t want this.”

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As PFT's Mike Florio notes, it’s become a big story because the Chargers haven’t guaranteed Tomlinson’s return. Indeed, they've made it clear Tomlinson's future isn't guaranteed. “L.T. will be discussed in great length on a number of issues by this organization based on [the three years he has remaining on his contract],” GM A.J. Smith said. “All of that may be stunning to people. ... I think it’s valid; I don’t think it’s ridiculous." For what it's worth, Smith still isn't happy that details of LT's groin injury appeared on ESPN -- a report Tomlinson verified a day later. Can you say battle LT-GM on?
