Following up on a previous item. ... Gore had to be assisted coming off the field by the 49ers training staff when hurt in the third quarter of today's win over the Jets. After being looked at on the sidelines, Gore was carted off the field. The latest update is that he’s suffered a left ankle sprain.

Although he left on a cart, Gore did come back out for the second half -- only to watch. “I was moving a pile and someone went down behind me,” Gore said. “It’s sore and tight....” Asked about Gore's status going forward in his post-game press conference, HC Mike Singletary wasn't willing to speculate. “We’ll have to wait and see," Singletary said. "I know right now he’s sore. We’ll just have to wait and see.”
