The Facts:
Called for unnecessary roughness after shoving a Seattle player in the facemaskm, Davis got pulled from the game and HC Mike Singletary had words for Davis as he came off. Singletary talked to Davis on the sidelines briefly and then instructed Davis to hit the showers early. Without Davis and Delanie Walker who was out with an elbow injury, the 49ers finished the game with Billy Bajema at tight end.

Singletary told reporters after the game he'd rather play with 10 guys interested in the team than play with an 11th man who is more interested in individual success. Asked what he told Davis, the coach said he told Davis he'd be more help to the team taking a shower and coming back out to watch. Wow. ... When asked if Davis would be the 49ers' starting TE in two weeks, Singletary said, "We got to think about that."
