Following up on a previous item. ... Barber left Sunday's game after bruising his ribs in the second half. The X-rays were negative, and the Cowboys are optimistic that he'll be able to play against in next week's big NFC East matchup. "I have no idea what his status is," Jerry Jones said, adding that Barber sustained some cartilage damage. "I'm assuming that everything is going to be fine."

Meanwhile, rookies Felix Jones (nine carries, 62 yards, TD) and Tashard Choice (five carries, 26 yards) were impressive in their NFL debuts. But as Morning News staffer Tim MacMahon suggested, it's a lot easier to find room to run after Barber bangs on the defense for a couple quarters. ... Still, we'll obviously be watching Barber's closely.
